Nusa Lembongan is a spectacular representation of local village life mixed with the best of tropical seaside beauty, just 30 minutes by fast-boat from Sanur on Bali’s south-east coast. At only 6km long and 2km wide, daily life centres on the spectacular ocean surrounds, which include fishing and seaweed farming.
The island consists of only two villages; Jangu Batu and Lembongan Village where apart from welcoming and escorting visitors to the best dive spots or surf breaks, locals continue to live and practice their ancient Hindu religion among their beautiful and rather untouched island home.
The sight at sunset of local ‘seaweeders’ poling their boats in silhouette to a brilliantly lit backdrop will remain etched in your memories long after your departure.
